- 1. 3D segmentation and modelling of clinical imaging
Medical data from the DICOM (CT scan, MRI, etc.) is analysed and segmented to isolate the anatomical structures of interest and turn these selections into usable 3D digital models. - 2. Medical device design (CAD)
The anatomical models produced previously are modified, sculpted or enhanced and serve as the basis for designing surgical guides, orthoses, prostheses, implants or teaching models. - 3. Preparation for manufacturing or simulation
Files are exported to manufacturing environments (3D printing, milling) or simulation environments (surgical planning, virtual reality).
Mastery of specialist software is essential to ensure the accuracy and reliability of each of these stages.
